Hector’s Spirits

Hector’s Spirits is a New Zealand craft gin producer with a strong connection to Aotearoa’s coastline. Its small-batch approach centres on coastal and native-inspired botanicals, bringing together traditional gin ingredients with flavours that reflect the New Zealand landscape.

The botanical collection includes native sea kelp harvested from New Zealand’s rocky shores, mānuka, thyme, lemon myrtle, orange, lavender, cardamom, cinnamon, angelica root, orris root, liquorice root, coriander seed and juniper. These ingredients create a profile built around classic juniper, subtle coastal salinity, herbal warmth and bright citrus.

Production remains deliberately small-batch, with botanicals weighed by hand, the spirit cut by taste and each bottle finished by hand. Hector’s currently produces two main expressions: Premium Dry Gin and Platinum Ink Gin, with the latter incorporating butterfly pea extract to create a natural colour change when tonic or citrus is added.

The brand takes its name from the Hector’s dolphin, a species native to New Zealand waters. Hector’s Spirits partners with the NZ Whale & Dolphin Trust to support conservation efforts, extending the brand’s coastal connection beyond the ingredients used in its gin.
