A limited New Zealand single malt whisky aged for five years in a single Pinot Noir cask, with rich notes of raw cacao, white raisins and apricot kernels.
Scapegrace Single Cask Ephemeral is an experimental New Zealand single malt whisky created as the first release in Scapegrace's single cask range. Designed to capture a unique moment in the distillery's whisky journey, only 247 bottles were produced from this individual cask.
Made using New Zealand Laureate grain, Ephemeral was patiently aged for five years in a 200-litre Pinot Noir cask. The wine cask maturation contributes additional fruit and complexity while allowing the underlying malt and oak character to develop.
Bottled at a robust 59% ABV, the whisky is presented at natural colour and is non-chill filtered. Its tasting profile features raw cacao, white raisins and apricot kernels, creating a concentrated combination of fruit, nuttiness and cacao character.
