A limited-edition barrel-aged New Zealand gin from Waiheke Distilling Co, matured in French oak barrels previously used for Stonyridge Larose wine. Bottled at 52% ABV, it combines juniper and citrus blossom with vanilla, spice and subtle wine-derived depth.
Stonyridge Larose Unchartered Barrel Aged Gin is a limited-edition collaboration between Waiheke Distilling Co and Stonyridge on Waiheke Island. The gin is matured in French oak barrels that previously held Stonyridge Larose, allowing characteristics from both the oak and the wine to influence the finished spirit.
Rather than creating a flavoured gin, the barrel ageing introduces additional layers to the underlying spirit. Juniper and citrus blossom remain prominent aromatically, developing into vanilla, warming spice and subtle vinous depth from its time in the Larose barrels.
Bottled at 52% ABV, Larose Unchartered is a higher-strength barrel-aged gin that brings together traditional gin character, French oak maturation and the influence of one of Waiheke Island's established red wines.
