Saint George Gin

A modern New Zealand London Dry Gin from The Vicar’s Son, combining floral white lotus and clover with juniper, citrus, gentle spice and a smooth barley spirit base.

Saint George Gin is a deeply personal small-batch expression from The Vicar’s Son, created in memory of George, the family’s greyhound. George is also represented on the bottle, giving this release a meaningful connection to the story behind the gin.

The botanical recipe is centred on Macedonian juniper and New Zealand-grown white lotus flower, complemented by clover, rosehip, Taiheke hops, angelica, liquorice, cassia bark, pink pepper, lemonade lemon, poppy seeds, vanilla and cocoa husks, along with one undisclosed botanical.

On the nose, floral white lotus and clover sit above resinous juniper, with vanilla, rosehip and citrus adding sweetness and brightness. Taiheke hops contribute a fresh green character. The palate is silky and layered, beginning with the warmth of the barley-based spirit before developing into juniper, floral botanicals, spice, citrus and gentle berry-like notes from pink pepper.

The Vicar’s Son describes Saint George as a modern London Dry Gin with floral grace, citrus brightness and earthy depth. Production is exceptionally small, with only seven bottles produced per batch.
