Drops of God Vodka

A four-times distilled New Zealand vodka from The Vicar’s Son, made from a barley spirit base without charcoal filtering, offering a smooth profile with subtle toffee and banana notes.

Drops of God Vodka is a small-batch New Zealand vodka from The Vicar’s Son, produced with a focus on purity while retaining some of the natural character of its barley spirit base. Unlike many highly neutral vodkas, it is bottled without charcoal filtering, allowing subtle flavours from the original grain spirit to remain.

The vodka is distilled four times, with the fourth distillation carefully managed to capture only the pure heart of the run. For the current batch, just 56% of the final distillation was retained, resulting in a cleaner and more neutral spirit than earlier versions while maintaining the distinctive character associated with The Vicar’s Son.

Subtle notes of toffee and banana can be found in the spirit, both originating from the barley base. Antipodes water is used to bring the vodka down to its final bottling strength, after which it is rested in the bottle to allow the water and spirit to integrate.

Bottled at 40% ABV, Drops of God is produced on an exceptionally small scale, with only six bottles made from the listed batch. Its smooth, characterful profile makes it suitable for sipping neat, serving over ice or pairing with a simple mixer.
