Dogma Gin

A rich, orange-forward New Zealand gin from The Vicar’s Son, combining natural orange oils with vanilla, juniper and warming spice for a silky, full-flavoured profile.

Dogma Gin is a distinctive small-batch expression from The Vicar’s Son, created with an emphasis on concentrated citrus and warming botanical character. Rich natural orange essential oils give the gin an intense citrus profile and a silky texture, with a natural louche or gentle cloudiness that can appear in the spirit.

The aroma opens with fresh orange zest accompanied by caramel, sweet vanilla and nutmeg. Star anise adds aromatic spice, while a rounded juniper base keeps the profile connected to classic gin character.

On the palate, sweet orange and vanilla bean lead before developing into crisp juniper and warming spice. Star anise, cinnamon and a subtle touch of cracked black pepper add complexity, followed by a long finish of lingering orange oil, soft vanilla and sweet spice. The distillery also notes that Dogma works particularly well in an orange-led Negroni or served simply with tonic water.

This particular batch was distilled to help raise funds for dental treatment for Edna, a senior rescue dog, with The Vicar’s Son directing proceeds from sales towards her care.
