Sea Salt + Kelp Gin

A refined coastal gin from Hawke’s Bay, blending briny sea kelp, lemon, and warming liquorice root for a spirited taste of New Zealand’s shoreline.

Sea Salt + Kelp by Unlikely Companions is inspired by New Zealand’s wild coastlines, surf, and the crisp scent of sea air. This 700 mL release captures the sensory meeting point between land and sea, offering zesty lemon top notes, a briny kelp core, and grounding layers of liquorice root and juniper.

Each botanical - juniper berries, coriander, angelica root, liquorice root, lemon, orris root, giant kelp, and dill seeds, is distilled individually, then precisely blended for clarity and depth. A saline solution is added during dilution to enhance its distinctive oceanic character.

The result is a gin with mineral texture and layered complexity, praised for its balance, creamy smoothness, and seaside freshness. It’s excellent neat, in a gin and tonic with lemon, or in a Martini without brine.
