Oamaruvian Cask Strength Single Malt is a bold New Zealand whisky matured by The New Zealand Whisky Collection in its seaside bond store in Oamaru.
Initially matured in American oak ex-bourbon barrels, the whisky was further aged in New Zealand Pinot Noir casks before being finished in an ex-Merlot and Syrah cask. This combination creates a deep burnt-umber colour and a rich, fruit-led character.
Bottled at its full cask strength of 55.8% ABV and non-chill filtered, Oamaruvian delivers generous flavours of Christmas cake, dates, blueberries, warming spices and fortified wine. A long finish brings together Madeira, dark toffee, ripe fruit and a lightly salty coastal note.
