The Cardrona Day – Chardonnay Barrel Single Malt Whisky is a special release commemorating Cardrona Day. This expression is one of only two Chardonnay barrels laid during the distillery's inaugural year, making it a unique and rare offering. Matured in Cask #282, an ex-Otago Chardonnay barrel with a capacity of 230 litres, the whisky was filled on 2 September 2016 and hand-bottled on 4 September 2024. The result is a whisky that showcases exquisite notes of pear, pain aux raisin, dried figs, along with Cardrona’s signature borage flower honey and clotted cream. Limited to 349 bottles, this release stands as a testament to Cardrona Distillery's commitment to craftsmanship and tradition.
